Our mission is to make an impact on the life and service of the Napa Police Department dogs and their handlers from inception through retirement. We strive to support these canines with veterinary care, nutrition, boarding, training, equipment and overall quality of life; especially when they are no longer in service from the police department.
The Napa K9 Association was founded in April 2024 with the goal to provide the Napa Police K9s with support after they retire. While the department purchases the dogs, funds medical, supplies, training, and nutrition; none of these costs are covered after the dog retires from the department. Unlike humans they don’t receive a retirement pension for all their hard work. These dogs specifically, give their life to serve and protect our communities from the moment they are born. They deserve to be well taken care of after their service, which may require more attention than an average household pet dog.
Our nonprofit’s main goal this year is to grow our community outreach so that we are able to support K9 Mike who recently retired. He has extensive dental bills for missing teeth and various ailments after years of apprehending suspects and training. Moving forward into the future we strive to also provide support for the 3 current Napa Police K9’s; Dex, Chef, and Kygo when they are ready to retire.
All cash donations are tax deductible in accordance with the law and will be used to directly impact the dogs that serve our community.
